Curriculum Director

MEISD is currently accepting applications for the position of Curriculum Director. Applicants should meet the following criteria:

1.  Mid-Management  Certification
2.  Masters Degree
3.  Ability to evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
4.  Ability to interpret educational data
5.  Strong organizational skills
6.  Strong communication skills
7.  Strong knowledge of curriculum PK-12

This position would begin duties July 1, 2008.  This position will report directly to the Superintendent.

Duties will include the following:

1.  Coordinate PK-12 curriculum
2.  Plan & coordinate Staff Development
3.  UIL Academic Coordinator for Elementary, Jr High, and High School
4.  Participate in teacher evaluation
5.  Assist with TAKS testing program
6.  Plan and coordinate TAKS Benchmark testing program for Grades 3 - 12
7. Maintain TAKS testing data
8.  Evaluate instructional programs PK-12
9.  Assist Principals with student scheduling
10. Investigate and prepare grant projects
11. Perform administrative duties in the absence of Principals
12. Coordinate the selection of textbooks and instructional materials
13. Additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent
