Wildcats Steamroll West Sabine Mt. Enterprise 45 West Sabine 6
Big hits were the theme of the evening for the Mt. Enterprise Wildcat defense. Often overshadowed by the vaunted Wildcat offense, the defense stepped out of the shadows Friday night and played a huge game to lead the Wildcats to victory. Hunter Ammons led the 'Cats on defense with ten tackles and a forced fumble. Grant Grubbs also registered a forced fumble to go with his nine tackles. Mitchell Whitlow rang up three quarterback sacks on the evening as well. "The defense played well," said Wildcat head coach Louie Johnson. That defense led to an abundance of scoring opportunities which the offense gladly took advantage of. The potent backfield for the Wildcat offense saw the endzone a total of six times while rolling up 341 yards rushing on the evening. Tailback Kevin Pope had 223 yards on 25 carries and four touchdowns while fullback D.T. Bryant added 118 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns. The other Wildcat touchdown came when senior quarterback Larry Solomon hit Grant Grubbs in the endzone for a ten yard TD.
