MHS Student Council Maintains High Standard The MHS Student Council continues to accumulate awards under the leadership of TASC District 4 Advisor of the Year Jerry Pirtle. The MHS Student Council became an active member of the District 4 Texas Association of Student Councils in 1993. District 4 TASC is comprised of some 78 high schools in 14 East Texas counties. Since becoming active in 1993 MHS has won fourteen consecutive outstanding student council and sweepstakes awards at the annual spring District 4 TASC conference. Awards won by the Mount Enterprise High School Student Council at the annual district conference on Friday, March 7 at Angelina College in Lufkin were as follows: • District 4 Pride and Patriotism award for school pride and state and national patriotism projects for 2007-2008 The past state student council year and projects were from March 1, 2007 to March 1, 2008. MHS Student Council is currently beginning work for the 2008-2009 year. Mount Enterprise was elected TASC District 4 President for the 2008-2009 term. MHS has served as a district officer for thirteen consecutive years. The council has served in the following offices: 1996-1997 - District Vice-President |
